अन्वर्थ I. Bahuvr. m. f. n. (-र्थः-र्था-र्थम्) Having an obvious
sense, having a sense easily to be understood from the
etymon, as simple words like वृत्ति, कषायवत्, or com-
pounds, when analyzed into their constituent parts, such
as निबन्ध, दीर्घपत्त्र &c. The same as अनुगतार्थ
comp. the
following words. (The word is taken as a Bahuvr. by Val-
labhagaṇi on Hemach. 257. = 2. 171: अनुगतो मिलितोऽर्थो

but it may be also a Tatpur.)
